Over the years, people have had more specific reasons for pirating VOCALOIDs, including: Generally, the reason someone would pirate a VOCALOID is simply to be able to use it without committing to investing their money. As it was the most well known pirated software, POCALOID became a catch-all name for any illegally downloaded editor or voicebank. Originally, POCALOID was the name of an illegal version of the VOCALOID2 editor distributed online. but today, we’ll look at cases involving piracy of these specific vocaloids:Īll information and images are from the vocaloid wiki (along with any sources it cites) unless stated otherwise. Most vocaloids, if not all, will inevitably get pirated. it is simply to inform because i find these stories interesting. so before anything else, i want to clarify: the purpose of this post is not to condemn anyone involved in vocaloid piracy. Piracy is a controversial topic in the vocaloid community. however, since they all share that piracy in common, i decided a bonus post compiling their stories would be best. I’ve considered making posts about notable cases of vocaloid piracy related to certain vocaloids.
